The Story of Shuddh Swad

From a spark of curiosity to a movement redefining India’s traditional snacking culture.

A Dream Takes Root

Shuddh Swad began as a vision — to transform India’s relationship with its traditional snacks. At its heart was a 16-year-old dreamer, Jayanta, who believed that every young Indian should dare to dream big and create something meaningful. With no investors or background, only passion and purpose, he set out to redefine “purity in taste.”

The Spark of Curiosity

One day, Jayanta saw a child enjoying thekua at a street stall. When his father warned him it wasn’t hygienic, he insisted and tried it anyway—only to fall ill the next day. That experience changed everything. He realized millions of Indians face the same issue — delicious but unsafe street snacks.

A Widespread Problem

During Chhath Puja, co-founder Kailash brought a packet of thekua — tasty but overpriced, and available only seasonally. They noticed that India’s favorite snacks — besan laddoo, makhana, banana chips — were either unhygienic or inaccessible. They saw not just one issue, but a national opportunity for change.

The Birth of a Movement

Shuddh Swad was born on Instagram, not as a brand, but as a movement — to bring back the purity, flavor, and pride of Indian traditions. Today, it’s about connecting people through authentic, hygienic, and affordable snacks made with love.
